While some thought it was too fragile and would easily break, it not only lasted nearly a year in storage, but it also made it through the move we made last fall. I’m still obsessed with the colors of these leaves and I’m so ready for cooler weather so that outside can match my fall spirit. Now, to be honest, I wasn’t sure if this was going to work. And I had some doubts along the way. Since DIY leaf bowls have been around forever, I figured, how hard could it be? And while it really was easy to create, I did struggle to believe that it would work for me. I found that the more leaves I layered on top, the more slippery they became, and a few tried to slide off. So after a mini-trial and error, I decided to do it in stages with different layers which worked perfectly! While I thought it would be fun to pop the balloon, I decided against this as that could cause the vase/bowl to collapse since it’s glued to the balloon. By letting the air out slowly I could carefully pull the leaves off the balloon as it deflated. I had planned to put a single flameless candle inside, but once it was finished I decided to add some twinkle lights and tiny leaves around the flameless candle.
